Overview

Most process problems have already been diagnosed informally by the people closest to them, what's missing is the structured, data-backed proof needed to act on it with confidence. That's what a DMAIC-based process improvement engagement provides.

We embed with your team for the length of the project, not just the workshop, so the improvement is owned by the process operators and not left as a slide deck.

Who it's for

  • Organizations with a specific, recurring process problem (defects, delays, cost)
  • Teams that have tried quick fixes without lasting results
  • Quality, operations or continuous-improvement leaders who need an external, data-driven diagnosis

Our approach

1Define

  • Scope the process and the problem statement
  • Agree the metric that defines success (Y)
  • Map stakeholders and project charter

2Measure

  • Baseline current performance with real data
  • Validate the measurement system
  • Establish process capability

3Analyze

  • Identify root causes with statistical and process tools
  • Prioritize causes by impact and effort

4Improve

  • Pilot solutions against the top root causes
  • Validate improvement with data, not opinion

5Control

  • Build control plans and dashboards
  • Transfer ownership to the process team
  • Schedule a post-implementation review

Deliverables

  • Project charter and baseline data analysis
  • Root-cause analysis report
  • Implemented and validated improvement
  • Control plan and monitoring dashboard
  • Knowledge transfer session for the process team

Outcomes

  • Measurable reduction in the target defect or delay metric
  • A control system that holds the gain after the engagement ends
  • Internal team trained to run the next project themselves

Engagement model

Typically 8–12 weeks per process, scoped after a short diagnostic call. Pricing is quoted after that call, based on process scope and team size.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from just sending our team to a Black Belt course?

Training builds the skill; a consulting engagement applies it to your actual process, with our Black Belt-led team doing (or co-doing) the analysis alongside yours. Many clients do both, train a Green Belt cohort, then bring us in to run the first project with them.

Do you work on our site or remotely?

Both, the Measure and Analyze phases usually need time on your process (in person or via video with your team), while data analysis and reporting can happen remotely. We scope this during the diagnostic call.
